How much sealant should you order?

For a rectangular joint, theoretical sealant volume in ml per metre = joint width (mm) × sealant depth (mm). For illustration, a 600 ml pack gives the following theoretical coverage:

Plan the complete joint-sealing system

The sealant is one part of the installation. Check substrate condition, cleaning, joint dimensions, backing material and any primer requirements in the current product data sheet. Ask about compatible backer rods and accessories when requesting your materials.

For a painted finish, confirm coating compatibility and test the proposed system. For water immersion, chemical exposure or unusual substrates, obtain product-specific technical guidance before selecting a sealant.

No. Products differ by intended application and performance. Select against the current product data sheet, substrate, joint movement, exposure and project specification.

How many 600 ml packs do I need?

Multiply joint width by sealant depth in millimetres to estimate ml per metre, then multiply by total metres and divide by 600. Round up and allow for application waste. Use the approved joint dimensions and confirm the actual pack size.

Can I request a specific colour or pack size?

Yes. Include your required colour, product, pack size and quantity in the enquiry. Buildcare will confirm availability and pricing before you order.

Can I request data sheets and delivery details?

Ask for the current regional product data sheet and safety data sheet for your selected product. Send your site address and required date so collection or delivery arrangements can be confirmed with the quotation.
