MEMBRANE SHIELD (MS) are durable, light weight, semi-rigid and strong, bituminous protection boards, for shielding waterproofing membrane from site damage or puncture by backfilling material. MS are manufactured from selected fine aggregates bound in oxidized asphalt, and then encased between two layers of asphalt saturated glass fiber/ composite mat, to form a semi-rigid, dense and strong board with high compressive strength capable of bearing typical foundation pressures. The high compressive strength of MS is capable of supporting the foundation reinforcements.
